Visa D – visa for long-term staying

What

Visa D allows you to stay more than 90 days in Hungary. With visa D you can enter to Hungary to apply for a residence permit. If you are a third country citizen with visa D you can travel to other EU member countries for maximum 3 months in every 6 month under the same conditions as inhabitants with residency permit. How

You have to apply for this visa at the Hungarian embassy or consulate in your country personally. After arriving to Hungary you need to go to the regional Immigration and Asylum Office to get your residence permit. The visa is valid up to 30 days so it is advisable to apply for residence permit as soon as possible.
